Religion Sucking

Imagine having a life with your significant other for twenty-five years and suddenly being kept from them in their greatest hour of need. That's what happens in places where LGBT people are legislated second class citizens.

It's happening right now in Indiana. Jeanne Atkins, fundy and owner of Atkins Cheesecake, is denying her ill son's partner of twenty-five year access to her son. Bilerico has also been on this story. I hope it gets some major media attention.

This sad case is another example of why marriage equality is needed for LGBT people (and civil unions are not an equivalent of marriage).
