Published reports say Lassegue was acting erratically, and relatives told reporters that he'd recently stopping taking medication for depression and bipolar disorder.

It's not yet clear what happened when police arrived, but investigators say the officers used a taser to try to subdue Lassegue after he became combative. He then went into cardiac arrest and was rushed to Franklin Hospital in nearby Valley Stream where he died a short while later. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

They are never a good option.
