A Run in the Park

I got in a few minutes ago from a run in Central Park. I ran my usual route around Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir. It's a beautiful night and there were a ton of people out, running and enjoying the park.

Watching the sunset from the reservoir is an amazing thing. Lots of people stand at a fence that rounds the reservoir and do just that. The buildings that ring the park are pretty amazing.

It's strange to think that some of the castle's inhabitants never go out without protection, wouldn't know how to raise their children without hired help, and have never been on the subway. It's stranger to consider that behind every fiscal conservative is the fantasy, or some variation on it, that they'll someday being riding private elevators to the "unattainable by mere mortals" penthouses of buildings like the ones around the park.
