Sittin in a Railway Station
I'm in Albany's Amtrak station waiting for a train back to NYC. I've been up here for a few days looking after my father and checking in on my mother. My father just had a heart procedure and my mother is starting to have cognitive difficulties. Yesterday, I tried to make sure she's enrolled in the proper Medicare/Medicaid plans. That turned out to be too complicated to address in one day. It shouldn't be so difficult to take care of elderly loved ones.

It was a beautiful, if sad, ride up here. I took a late afternoon train up and the sun went down during the first half of the trip. Views along the Hudson at dusk in the Fall are devastatingly gorgeous. It was a beautiful backdrop for my morose state of mind. My parents are starting to decline.

The ride home will likely have the same character except that I should be home before the sun sets.
